Are there any blogs that are getting it right?

There’s a blog called The Big Lead. They cover sports seriously, and not with sophomoric sex jokes. I still believe that, particularly in the world of sports, blogs are dedicated to maliciousness and invective and cruelty.

Would the irony police make a ruling on this?

Many of SportsJournalists.com members hate blogs. They hate the Big Lead with a passion (cue Fozzie Bear picture). Buzz Bizzinger becomes the most outspoken critic of blogs in the country. But he likes the Big Lead.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I just can't understand the ire and angst toward blogs. Many of them are rather useless, pointless and sophmoric, but I could easily say the same thing about some of the weeklies and alt-newspapers/publications I see out there. For some of them, I believe saving the trees would have been a much better idea.
