Per the Denver Broncos twitter site, Bowlen has pulled the trigger on McDaniels. Waiting for more info to come out.

If this is true, I am going to become such a better person. Thank you, thank you, god! I just feel sorry for those poor folks in Oz awaiting his return.

Two questions: Is Broncos.com eligible to win an APSE award, and why is ESPN.com saying the Broncos have confirmed the firing when it appears that the Broncos broke the story?

If the Redskins keep playing the way they played on Sunday, Bowlen can hire Shanahan back.

Firing Shanahan and hiring McDaniels has to be on the list of worst coaching changes ever.

It will be interesting to see how much longer Tebow remains a Bronco since McDaniels drafted him as part of his mancrush.

I wonder what the hell happened? Only a few games left...no interim coach named...not an awful loss yesterday...what did that little demonic **** dwarf do to get himself fired before the end of the season?

Don't bring Albom into this.

I would just like to say I looked forward to, and ultimately enjoyed, Care Bear's posts on this thread as much as she looked forward to and enjoyed my posts mocking hondo on the Wright Thompson Cleveland story thread. That is all.

It's always about you, isn't it?

Shanahan had grown stale. One playoff win in 10 years, blowouts in big games, blowing a three game lead with three games to play in his last season, two out of his last three years just needed to win the last home game against bad opponents to qualify for the playoffs and lost them both, a .500 record his last three seasons. It was probably time.

Obviously the McDaniels hire wasn't a great one.

Whew, poin, glad you're safe. Hadn't seen you in a while

At this point, if you know you're going to axe him at the end of the season anyway, ya gotta think about ticket sales ... especially with how much Broncos fans hate McDaniels. Might as well try and put some butts in the seats and get a little extra money.

And Jeff Mathis.

Shanahan had grown stale, but getting rid of a HOF-level coach and hiring some 32-year-old punk and then giving him the run of the franchise was just idiotic.

A friend in Denver swears that if Brandon Stokely hadn't gotten lucky with that TD catch in the opener last season, McDaniels would not have gotten a second season.

Meanwhile, he ran off a QB who is 9-3 this season and ran off a pretty damn good receiver.
