James Bond's wedding didn't go well either.

I hope the song wasn't "Save the Last Dance for Me"

It took 15 posts... I would have thought earlier.

I think that's because the board was trying to display an unusual (and rather remarkable, really) tone of reverence and respect based on the circumstances.

I know I had 3 or 4 cheesy comments I could have tossed out there that I opted not to post.

And speaking of brides dying on the dance floor, does anyone remember the story where a newly married couple was holding a wedding reception and the dance floor literally just collapsed under them and sent everyone dancing plummetting several floors. I believe the bride passed away in that case as well, or maybe it was the groom. Happened several years ago now, and was in India or Turkey or somewhere along those lines, but there was video of it at the time.

I remember watching that tape. There have also been other wedding tragedies in the news lately. There was an accident out in Long Island in which a drunk driver crashed into the wedding limo. I think the groom got killed along with a young flower girl, but I could be wrong about the exact details.

Remember Tommy Boy?

There are so many tasteless dance move jokes that I can't pick one. Okay, I will. Was she doing the tube steak boogie?

I revel in my cynicism as much as the next guy but I'm having a tough time finding any humor in this story.

the song playing at the time you ask? well, it was performed by the cutting crew.

That's probably because, unlike myself, you're not an asshole.

Or because I'm engaged...

Oops. I have to edit this one. I said I thought it was just a renewing of vows. But I see now that it was a true wedding.

Here's the full story on the bride dying, very touching. Been the most popular story at miami herald site for the past couple of days.

I really think this is the saddest story I've ever heard...

One of my elementary school teachers had the worst luck in the world.

She got engaged. Fiancee died.

She got engaged again. Fiancee died.

She eventually got married, and they're still married with a son.

I have a friend who is 34, and has been widowed twice... Granted, both of her husbands were in the military and died in Iraq, but I can't even begin to imagine having to deal with that buch grief at such a young age...

Very sad...

Hopefully, she'll marry a Canadian one day.

eternal damnation? that's ****ing cold.

Damn, this is a very well-written paragraph:

Every day, Teddy Efkarpides -- a burly, bearded, Brooklyn-born six-footer -- tries again to sort out what happened. Why fate cast him as the romantic lead one minute, a widower at his own wedding the next. Why, after a wrenching divorce, he won a loving heart, only to see it fail them both.

One more. Just a fantastic way to end the piece:

Sometimes he looks at Kim's ''101 Reasons'' list -- ''97: You amaze me every day; 98: You're the one I want to grow old with'' -- and he cries.

The video on this reference is truly eerie....seeing the pronouncement, and knowing she would be dead within an hour.

Just think. With the situation in the Middle East, a lot of Jewish weddings have ended this way, courtesy of some of those terrorists.

that's right. It all comes back to the terrorists, right Yawn? Can't just be sad on its own, you have to make it political.

*******, you're a big ****ing idiot.

The Miami Herald should be ashamed.

Many of the comments on its own Web site after the story make fun of the situation, including one gem that suggested she was killed for insurance money and another saying the wife died because she was afraid of Greek sex.

You stay classy, Miami Herald.
