One of my elementary school teachers had the worst luck in the world.

She got engaged. Fiancee died.

She got engaged again. Fiancee died.

She eventually got married, and they're still married with a son.

Sounds like she had previous heart problems, but at least she got to fulfill one of her dreams.

Of course it sucks how it ended. That's terrible.

I have a friend who is 34, and has been widowed twice... Granted, both of her husbands were in the military and died in Iraq, but I can't even begin to imagine having to deal with that buch grief at such a young age...

Very sad...

that is awful about the bride dying during the first dance (as well as the other young widows others have mentioned)

I saw this earlier today. Incredibly sad.

I can't imagine what her parents or her groom are feeling.

RIP.

I hope the song wasn't "Save the Last Dance for Me"

It took 15 posts... I would have thought earlier.

I think that's because the board was trying to display an unusual (and rather remarkable, really) tone of reverence and respect based on the circumstances.

I know I had 3 or 4 cheesy comments I could have tossed out there that I opted not to post.

And speaking of brides dying on the dance floor, does anyone remember the story where a newly married couple was holding a wedding reception and the dance floor literally just collapsed under them and sent everyone dancing plummetting several floors. I believe the bride passed away in that case as well, or maybe it was the groom. Happened several years ago now, and was in India or Turkey or somewhere along those lines, but there was video of it at the time.

I remember watching that tape. There have also been other wedding tragedies in the news lately. There was an accident out in Long Island in which a drunk driver crashed into the wedding limo. I think the groom got killed along with a young flower girl, but I could be wrong about the exact details.
