Apologies if this has been posted already:

Pretty sure the show will sell out regardless and that they really couldn't care. Nothing they haven't heard before, just a new and creative way of putting it.

Their latest album has been on the billboards hard rock chart for 26 weeks, is currently number 5 and peaked at one.

They have a lot of songs I do like and a lot of songs, not so much.
If you're out there in a party/drinking mood, they're great to drink to. Do I take them seriously as a band where I think they are pushing the industry creatively and politically/socially? not in the slightest.

All their songs are the same. Guitar solo at the start, drums kick in, rest of the song goes off. Local DJs played 'You Remind Me' and one of their songs over one another and the similarities were uncanny.
Worst part is my wife loves them. Had to go to a show once and I was the sober one. It was awful.

Bland, boring songs that all sound the same for the most part.

This is all a lead up to Canada's commemoration of the War of 1812 Bicentennial. We sent Celine Dion to establish a beachhead and then followed that with Justin Bieber and Nickelback.

All new ways to bedevil our neighbours to the South! :D

I notice you didn't mention Carly Rae Jepsen. Sneaky ****ing Canucks.

To be honest, I never heard of her before yesterday. Hard to keep up with our offensive weapons.

Don't forget Brian Adams or that, ahem, that ***** Anne Murray too.

Neil Young, BTO, Rush, April Wine, The Guess Who at least offset some of the bad Canadian acts.

This is true, and I could handle this if it was all that sucked about Nickelback.

But to my ears, Chad Kroeger's voice is the most irritating thing I've heard in a long, long time.

When I descend into hell after my time here on earth, the soundtrack will be Chad Kroeger singing his horrible, heartfelt ballads nonstop for eternity.

So I'll be damned if I listen to a single note he sings now.

You're in luck here, then. You can even crank it to 11.

Tragically Hip, The Trews, Sloan and 95% of the Band

Makes me wonder what's the most hated band in rock history in terms of critics and eventually the public turning on the band.

I think you have to pair mediocre talent with insanely good record sales to be in the running. You can't just completely suck.. There has to be a spark of talent, but also a complete aversion to change of style and growth as an artist over at least a decade of success.

Nickelback and Creed are the modern contenders.

Barenaked Ladies, Moxie Fruvous

also Shania Twain, though I'm not a country fan, she is quite easy on the eyes. Also as a native of Windsor, she counts as both a Canadian musician and a Detroit-area musician

Max Webster, The Kings, The Watchmen, The Headstones, Colin James and Blue Rodeo.
