The one thing I haven't seen in any of the stories I've read is, how much did he make? I don't think those emergency guys get a game check, but do they get paid at all? And if they actually go in, wouldn't the NHLPA require that they get 1/82nd of the minimum salary?

If this were the Sabres I’d say this wasn’t much of a step up for him.

I love emergency goalies, and I love that this guy got some meaningful time and shut down the Jets. The end, when the rest of the team surrounded him, is amazing. The look on his face when the horn blows, even through his mask, is priceless. Pretty solid post-game interview, too. The guy can do it all.

It’s a credential, not a job description. Plenty of financial planners, CFOs, professors, etc., have it.
