Sorry about that, 93D, though it sounds as if things will be OK down the road.

A fib fracture off a patch of black ice? Did your body take a strange turn while your foot slipped forward? Just seems strange. Again, that stinks.

Take care ...

I fell straight down on it I guess.

Lil 93 might take her next step before I take mine.

I have 80, count em, 80 Oxycodones next to me right now. It's the generic for Percocet so the bottle says.

I was given Percocets for something in the wake of my cancer surgery. I took every last one of those pills.

Sorry to hear about your ankle. I'm glad you're OK though and that you have a great wife and daughter.

Damn, Devil, sorry to hear that.

Dumbbells next to the couch will help you keep the upper body in shape. Or, just lift 12 ounces at a time with a sixpack of beer every afternoon..

You do realize that unless he has a fridge in the living room, half that beer's not going to taste so great?

Hmmm ...

Clearly, it's time to round up the newbies and put them to work doing what newbies do best.

Hee-YAH!

Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Though the streams are swollen
Keep them newbies rollin'
Rawhide!

Fetch Devil some beers!

Damn, that's rough. Being incapacitated with a little one running around must be really frustrating. Here's hoping you heal up ahead of schedule.

My mom had the rare total ankle replacement, which is still pretty experimental. What an ordeal.

Damn, bro. I've never broken a bone, and can't imagine what one "exploding" feels like.

****. Makes my skin crawl.

Get well soon.

On another note:

Damn, people. This man needs some mobility.

How did we get from Tahoe to Eastaboga Boulevard at Talladega?

15-minute ride on aforementioned mobility device, dude.

Since he's a Steelers fan, I expect he'll be up and about by Sunday, just like his idol Ben Roethlisberger. :D

Get well soon, 93D. Hope the time goes by quick.

Your mom is Robin Ventura?

I can't match the expertise of some others here on the various painkillers, so all I can say is rest up, heal up, and take care of yourself 93.

Hang in there bro.
Speaking of inspections, my dad took his car in--a relatively new car--and they rejected him. Said they couldn't see his license plate from 60 feet away (paint had worn off the digits). He has to get new plates (amazingly enough for Massachusetts, at no charge, otherwise I would have called BS on this scam.)

I have decided to spend the weekdays upstairs in bed, but Saturday morning I will venture downstairs for the weekend. Going up stairs is a real *****, and my wife and I decided it was not worth doing everyday.

I get to see Lil 93 all weekend downstairs, so that was the biggest part of the decision. It also helps that the bedroom tv is a ****ty little 20 inch thing and the HD one is downstairs.

Just a little update...

I have had a hard cast since the 13th with very little discomfort, and if I do have any, it's when I accidentally place any real pressure on the foot while crutching around. Of the 80 Perks I have, I took probably 12.

I am able to get on the floor with my daughter and play, and stairs are not a problem. Getting on the floor with her was a huge bonus.

When I met with the Doc, a great southern man by the way, I found out that I now have a plate in my ankle with eight screws. That has to be some type of record.

On Feb 10th I will have the hard cast off, and then I will have a walking boot. I will probably still be with the crutches for a couple more weeks, and then I should be fine. Everything looked good on the ankle and the healing.

The Doc said traveling will be a royal pain for the rest of my life, and even though I will have a cool x-ray card, I will probably be strip searched every time I fly. Yeah!!! Maybe the person will be as hot as Hillary Swank? I have only been out of the house twice since January 3rd.

The moral of the story is when you fall, fall on your ass and not your ankle.

Glad to hear you're healing, 93. Nice to know you can get replacement parts for yourself at any Home Depot.

I'd never be injured again if I can follow this bit of sage advice.
