I wondered that too - does SUV man not have a cell phone? Why not keep driving, call the cops and tell them what's happening? I feel like it started with road rage and ended with a gang beating.

The motor cycle drivers could contend that they were trying to stop a hit and run
driver and make a citizens arrest. Would not surprise me that we learn that there
were off duty cops among the riders.

Boom nails it:

Eyewitness News has learned that among the bikers on the Henry Hudson last weekend, were five off-duty NYPD officers.

Sources say at least two detectives witnessed the attack on Alexian Lien and did not directly intervene. And investigators are still working to determine what role, if any, was played by the other three officers.

What is clear, sources say, is that the men did not begin to come forward until late Wednesday, four full-days after the incident.

And detectives are also investigating reports that several others in the group may have been off-duty New York City correction officers.

Great. Now, all the cop-haters on this board aren't giving the detectives credit for not drawing their guns and blowing this SUV-driving punk away. As clearly would be their right.

If this is what a Bill de Blasio city is going to look like, would the last person to leave please turn off the lights?

Man, I had these bikers wrong the entire time .. oh wait, no I didn't.

At arraignment, the guy smashing out the window with his helmet gives photographer the double bird.

That is just shameful. Any cops who witnessed and did not try to stop what happened to SUV family should be fired immediately, publically humiliated, and never allowed to work in any sort of position of authority again. Criminy.

Cruz interviewed:

Two things: 1. He was never asked the obvious question: why did you and your bike-riding buddies feel the need to break every traffic law in the book during your little jaunt on a highway and city streets, recklessly endangering everyone out there, including yourselves. 2. Cruz said all he was trying to do was get the SUV driver's attention and change lanes. Oh, so now that he's facing years in prison, he acts all concerned about courteous driving?

If the judge has any brains or balls, s/he should bang his gavel about hard enough to drill a hole in the desktop, and bark out, "Ninety days for contempt of court. Bailiff, drag him off in neck irons."

There is a video of undercover cop breaking window:

You can't make this stuff up.

And he was arrested.

The persecution continues -- 11 bikers indicted, including the cop.

Three bags, I think he meant prosecution. A brain typo of the sort I make a thousand times a day.

No, I meant persecution -- which is what the bikers contend they have been through and was discussed earlier in the thread (which was quite some time ago by now).
