Take It To The Limit is an excellent song which hasn't been played to death like many on this list. I second the mentions for The Last Resort, Wasted Time and Pretty Maids All In a Row.

Yeah, there are a lot of songs that should be on that list.
Wasted Time, for one..

and that is why you are the slapmaster.

since it wasn't an option, i went with tequila sunrise.

You nailed it there. Three great album cuts that didn't get AM-radioed to death.

I used to own the On The Border album before selling it for food back in the day. It actually wasn't that bad. Wouldn't mind if I still owned it.

Conversely, I also owned Hotel California, which is sort of the El Lay self-pitying precursor to the mother of all self-pitying, woe-is-me, tortured artist albums ... Pink Floyd's The Wall. Can't believe I liked either of those monuments to whining.

Whatever food I got for selling Hotel California, even if it was just a stale bag of Chex Mix, was well worth it.

And if Take It To The Limit was in the poll, I'd vote. I can live with Randy Meisner. Better still if In The City was included, which was originally a Joe Walsh solo song.

"James Dean" followed by "Already Gone" and "In the City"

"How Long."

Probably because it was originally a J.D. Souther song. But I like their version better than his.

We can all agree that the Eagles suck, but there's no reason to be slagging Pink Floyd up to and including 'The Final Cut.'

You should try it. You might enjoy it.

The Eagles suck, but Rush doesn't?
Give me a break.

Rush is freaking horrible. But I'm not on the Rush thread bashing them.

Easy answer.

They both suck.

Unlike those who get on the Eagles thread to bash the Eagles. They're just playing little-boy games.

Thanks to that sententious, condescending post, I've now seen the light. I'll say 20 Hail Henleys and 10 Our Desperadoes to atone for the sin of soiling the sanctity of the Eagles thread.

Borrrr-rr-rrr-ing. Overused card when the original statement is accurate.

I didn't do it for love. I didn't do it for money. I admit, I did it for spite. I thought I had to, honey.

On The Border is the Eagles' one great song, and Good Day In Hell is a close second. The only song on the Desperado album worth listening to is Bitter Creek. Most of the rest of the Eagles I can take or leave.

Three pages in and no one has thought of a good Eagles song?

Why am I not surprised.
