Six Pac ball was just amazing. The three northern schools (Oregon didn't have baseball at that time) joined with some WCC and Big Sky schools to form the Northern division. Yet it was the WCC that got the ball rolling for a league of its own, forcing not only the consolidation of the Pac-10, but also the now-Big West.He fought the merger of the Pac-10's Northern and Southern Divisions into one unified league for years. He finally came around to acknowledging the league made the right choice after Washington, and then Oregon State, began to kick his ass on a regular basis.
His teams did act respectfully, didn't talk crap during games, and cleaned up their dugout and locker room after games. This is/was not the case with his successor.
