she totally left the screen door unlocked, although it did need a little WD40 from time to time. i did find out if i just pushed hard at first, the spring would relax enough to let me gain entry. everything after that was money.

it's all about the spring.

if you use a spring a whole bunch, it will get warm and soft to the touch ... it won't make much noise. you start throwing open a cold door, you know, like slamming it over and over, the spring/door attempts to close on its own and not allow entry ... and holy ****, it makes such a noise that will make a dog howl.

i've found, if applied correctly, lubricant will always allow you to bang the door open and closed as many times as you'd like regardless if it's warm, cold or maybe just somewhere in between.

screen doors are tricky, my friend, but if you lube them up, and position them just right, they'll open like the wink of an eye.
