Here's the offending Tweet, which was re-tweeted by a huge number of news outlets and journalists before several AP staffers came on and said they'd been hacked.

First thing I did was turn on msnbc where Andrea Mitchell's doing her show in front of the White House. You could see people walking around business as usual. That's when I figured it was bull****.

1. If you retweet something, is that because you are concerned about being first?
2. Assuming a correlation between the Dow falling and some news event is also poor journalism, though extremely prevalent.
3. The Onion Tweeted the AP post word for word, which was a pretty funny, snarky thing to do.

The major indices plunged, and were back up in six minutes. How did you lose money? You traded in those six minutes?
