imjustagirl said:Well, my name's not "Loud *****" so I figured there was some leeway with that.

One of the girls bedrooms was above our bathroom, their living rooms was above my bedroom...real ****ed up setup for both places (we had two bathrooms in ours that were back-to-back rooms, they had one...no clue who redesigned the place).
We became pretty good friends and would be pretty open and frank about anything...sex, drugs, etc.
Anyway, I got home from the bar one night and was dropping a duece. I could hear the girl in her room with a guy going at it. She gave a pretty good performance...made me stick around the waterclosest longer than expected anyway.
So, they finish...well, he does anyway...the walls are thin mind you (I "heard" his vinegar stroke, in a sense)...and he leaves pretty much after that. Within 10 seconds of him walking down the stairs I hear her get back in bed and a loud buzzing sound followed.
The next day I went up to tell her I heard it all. We both had a good laugh, especially when she said she called her vibrator "The Silver Bullet" in the conversation.
As for ****ty neighbors...never really had any...but I had to share the bullet story.

Care Bear said:I once had a downstairs neighbor complain to our landlord that my alarm went off at the same time every morning. He wasn't upset about the duration of the alarm. And he didn't mention the volume of the alarm. He was just annoyed that it went off at 7:30 five days a week.
MightyMouse said:So I got home from work around midnight last Thursday, and within 5 minutes, there was a knock at my door from my downstairs neighbor complaining that I was being too loud. Confused, I asked him what he meant, since I had barely taken off my coat (TV wasn't on; I wasn't on the phone; I didn't have any visitors).
He said that I was walking around too loudly and waking him up. He said the next time I woke him up, he was going to call the police. I asked him what his complaint was going to be, and he replied, "Disturbing the peace."
Not wanting to laugh in his face, I told him to go to bed, and I closed the door.
Couple things here: 1. I'm not completely up to speed on nuisance law, but I'm pretty sure I can't get in trouble -- let alone arrested -- for walking around my apartment. 2. If you're living in an apartment building, don't you have to expect a certain noise level? I'm not excusing loud TV/music or late-night parties, but with that many people in one building, you can't expect complete silence all the time. If you want that, buy a house out in the country -- or at least don't rent a first-floor apartment.
