My wife has a couple pieces of platinum jewelry -- a band and a chain/pendant -- she doesn't want and would like to sell. Any pointers on how to go about doing this? Aside from sending the stuff off to cashforgold.com and getting 75 cents back, I don't really know where to start.

(Why doesn't she want it? They're from an old boyfriend and they've been in the back of her jewelry box for quite a while. They're quite nice, and I have absolutely no problem with her keeping the stuff, but she has a problem with it.)

Pawn shop? Ebay? Craigs list? Sell it to Mr. T?

If Mr. T was the old boyfriend that would be awkward, though.

Sorry to chime in late, but try this site:
http://www.exboyfriendjewelry.com/

I'm cleaning out the jewelry box tonight and might give this a try.

Hmmm....

Jewelry? No. But she has knives that she wants to get rid of, find an old SportsJournalists.com member named PickleJuice could really help you out.

Do not bother with cash4gold.com. Your best bet is to simply go into a jewelry story and first see what yo can expect to get for it. Lots of jewelry stores by back jewelry and are able to clean it up and sell it or would know where you can go to sell it for the best money.
