It will be interesting when the Joker faces Nadal in the final at Roland Garros (preceeded by Ms. Gorges (who appro) in the women's final.) Do the Rome and Madrid wins mean anything?

I'm taking Nadal at Roland Garros.

On the women's side, taking Viktoria Azarenka.

I'm taking the Joker on the mens side. Funny how when guys get just to the edge of(or reach) the immortal, someone else seems to rise up and knock them off (Nadal with Fed, Fed with Sampras, McEnroe with Borg). Nadal is going for Borg's record of six yet here's Joker, the undisputed King for right now.

On the women's side, I want to root for Woziniaki because she's charming and appears well-grounded, yet seems destined to be more Jankovic than Hingis. Just wish she had more of a killer shot in her arsenal. Sharapova serving better recently. Zvonerava (worse visor ever, kids visor on a 6' woman), Azarenka and Goerges are just as likely to win as Woziniaki. I'll say Woziniaki.

Breaking the record for most Grand Slam titles didn't make Sampras and Federer immortal? If they didn't get that status then no one ever has.

No that's why I said "reach". Those guys are greats, I certainly agree there.

My bad. Totally read right over that part the first time through.

There's something about Wozniacki that makes me question her in the Slams. Maybe she hasn't had to wait long enough or work hard enough to be No. 1, with everything else that has happened to the top players (where in the world is Dinara Safina these days?)

Sure, every player who has ever won a Slam had their first time and maybe this is hers, or Azarenka's. If Francesca Schiavone can win one, why not?

And the ice creams are all melting on the streets of bloody beer
While the beggars stain the pavements with flourescent Christmas cheer.

That's good ****.

Nadal-Isner in the 5th set on the Tennis Channel

edit: no more. Nadal 6-4 in the 5th

Rafa beats Fed, 7-5, 7-6, 5-7, 6-1.

Key moment was first set, when Federer actually led, 5-2, then proceeded to lose eight of the next nine games.

Nadal seventh to win 10 Slams and is 5-0 against Federer in French finals.

Thankfully, we get a respite from McEnroe discussing "10-foot skidmarks."
