Another Virginia Tech tragedy: student murdered

That's terrible, and very frightening to even imagine.

Awful story. I really don't know how some of those kids sleep at night knowing what has happened there.

Tragedies happen everywhere. It just takes time to heal all wounds -- both physical and emotional.

Students in Texas no longer have to look up at the tower and wonder if there's a sniper up there.

The guy cut off her head.

So this guy, in a public setting, had time to cut the victim's head off with a knife.

I'm guessing that, unless he's got a ******* battle axe, that's something that you couldn't do in one cut.

How the **** does he not get stopped and have the ever-loving **** beat out of him by the other people in the restaurant?

Because he's got a knife and he's cutting off someone's head?

Well yeah, and I know shouldn't be questioning people's actions in a situation like that but that still seems odd.

Nobody else went up in the Tower a year or so after Whitman did.
Bad example.

The victim only arrived at Va Tech two weeks ago, so I would guess the backdrop on this goes back to China.

Reading into it, which I know is always dangerous, it says they knew each other. The police know that because of their emergency contact information. So apparently, if I'm reading that right, at least one of them listed the other as their emergency contact.

Boyfriend/girlfriend? Exes? Relatives? They had to know each other before school if one was listed on the other's emergency contact form.

Am I reading that wrong?

Actually, I thought there was some suicide jumpers that used the observation deck in the 70s and then it was closed until just a few years ago. I may be wrong on that.

The point I was trying to convey was that tragedies happen everywhere. They happen at colleges, factories, office towers and restaurants. Eventually, though, life returns to normal or as close to normal as possible.

We may remember the event, but we also remember to live.

Sounds very similar to that bus incident in Canada where a passenger decapitated another while others ran out of the bus screaming.

Wasn't that guy using a huge-ass sword though? I'd run from that.
