Mike Lange off TV, may do radio.

so sad.

By the way, Lange's penchant for beer (with a glass of ice) is legendary. So too is his choice to drive home after about 17 of them.
Wonder if that had anything to do with it?

Myron Cope and Mike Lange gone in the same year....Pittsburgh should be burned to the ground.

If he stays on radio, what's the big deal?

People who like his act can mute the TV and listen to radio.

Lange has said in the past that he didn't enjoy TV as much as radio.

I thought the Penguins were moving to Kansas City. >:(

Nope. Cuban's moving them to Dallas and they'll be called the Dallas Stripes.

Say it with me...when the NHL teams play each other...

Forget it, too easy...

Damn, Lange is one of the best in the game. No use turning up the sound when Pittsburgh is on Centre Ice now ...

Had the privilege of traveling with Mike through three Penguins seasons in the early '80s -- even did our own "Wedding Crashers" thing one night in Calgary. The only drawback being, of course, that I didin't get to hear him on game nights those seasons. A class act in every way. As long as he's still doing radio PBP, there's no reason for mass leapage off Mount Washington.

Meanwhile, anybody got an update on Myron Cope? Another genuine legend.

Unavailable for comment. Hmm ha.

"Well, I'll be cow kicked."

"Bow wow pee cow kick."

Amazing who can land on their feet in this business.

The worst is he's being replaced with Paul Steigerwald. The three Steigerwald brothers (Paul, John and Bill) only have one brain between them. What if Paul is doing the game one of the rare nights Bill needs the brain?

Back in my past life, i knew both John and Paul professionally. One was a total asshole, one was arrogant, but a good guy who was always quick with a joke and kind word.....any guesses as to which was which?
