Other observation -- Barry Gibb is like the 40 year old former flamethrower. He certainly can't blow anyone away, but he hit he black with a nasty curve tonight.

Hmm, I don't know about that. To me he sounded just like the SNL parody, without the "I'm Barry Effing Gibb!"

Damnit. The city of Flint is cursed I tell ya'. That city just took another blow. It would've been packed for the first time in probably 20 years if Lakisha would've made it.
You could hear moving up to No. 298 on the most livable places list slipping through the city's collected fingers...

I missed tonight, but last night it sounded like Barry needs to get his dentures adjusted so they fit better.

Ms Slappy was screaming over his dentures ... "He's trying to keep his lower plate from falling out!!!"

I'll probably be wrong because I haven't seen the whole season, but of the few episodes lately I don't see any future star in this batch. Each person has some sort of hang-up IMO, either not attractive enough but talented or attratice but not talented enough. I know people love Jordin but she doesn't do a whole lot for me.

Of course the winner will have some measure of success initially because of the show, but I see this year's winner going the Fantasia/Taylor Hicks route as opposed to the Kelly Clarkson route.

I'm telling you I can see someone like Quincy Jones doing wonders with LaKisha's talents. You will hear from her again.

Doubtful that she will attract a big name producer since she's demonstrated that she can't or won't take direction. That does not bode well for studio success.

She'll just call on these guys...

To those of you who say Blake's going home?

America will really vote 3 black women into the final 3? Really?

I know you've explained it before, in this thread even, but ... do you think it's because America wasn't ready to vote three black women into the semis? Or is it more because Blake had the teen girls and young women texting their votes non-stop? Given the women American Idol fans I know who wanted him to stay because "he's a cutie," I'm going with the latter here.

I think this is an excellent point.

What's next, Beatles or Abba? If it's Beatles, Blake's in the final 2. If Abba, he could be gone, tho Take a Chance on Me would be suited for beatbox.

How about the works of Marky Mark or branch it out to the entire family Wahlberg? C&C Music Factory? or seriously why don't they do birth years of the singers

HA!! That's EXACTLY what I thought. I was trying to riff on that here but my wife had never seen the skit so it was on deaf ears. Or blind eyes. Or both.

I thought Barry Gibb did a nice job on To Love Somebody, one of my favorite Bee Gees songs. I for one would like to see grunge week on Idol some year, to see one of the females tackle Seether.

Fu?k this show! LaKisha was my favorite. I think she is very marketable. I wouldn't be surprised to hear her cutting a CD very soon.

I feel kinda bad for her because, like I said before in this thread, I think she was the only one of the four who NEEDED this contract. And she had talent, but sadly for her, Doolittle is a MUCH better singer, Blake is a MUCH better performer, and Jordan looks MUCH better and is the most well-rounded and marketable of the bunch, outside of Blake. That's why my personal favorite, Doolittle, will likely leave next week and Jordan and Blake, the most marketable of the bunch, will be in the final two. I don't think Lakisha will sign any kind of a contract, but Doolittle will likely have a very nice career in Gospel or another genre outside of pop. Blake and Jordan will no doubt get record deals either way.

And, BTW, that beard on Gibb is just plain aweful! He has mosr missing spots than covered spots.

We've been thru this on other Idol threads. I explained about my sister-in-law... and how she refuses to vote for black people on Idol... this year she calls Melinda "too professional"-- that's her problem with Melinda. When I posted this story on a previous thread, somebody piped in with, "Sounds like I'd love your sister-in-law."

Explain Jennifer Hudson.

Look I'm not trying to start a flamewar. But to deny racism is out there ... you're in denial, put it that way.

Indeed. America is so full of screamin' racists that 40 percent of past Idol winners have been African-American and 75 percent of the artists to reach this year's final four were African-American.
Your sister in law is a racist? That's a shame.
There are 300 million people in this country. I'd expect to find a racist or two.

Explain Chris Daughtry.

She married you, so...I'm going with both.
