Advice to 17 Year Old Self?

If you could go back and give your seventeen-year-old self one piece of advice what would it be?
 
1. Bet the house that Kansas wins the 2008 national championship. Then get out of journalism.

2. Take that one spontaneous trip that you always wanted to but never did.

Start working and saving money now. Heck, just learn about basic personal finances now.
 
Take every computer class you can find.

Forget French. Learn Spanish and Russian.
 
Though your best friend's sister is gorgeous, don't date her. It'll be awkward after that until about your mid-20s.

Loosen up. Stop being so damn shy.

Push yourself to be your absolute best. You don't want to be sitting on your ass at age 25 figuring out how the hell you're gonna pay the rent.
 
McDonalds is evil and go to the gym. No really, go to the gym. don't just say you are going to, actually go.

That and:

Make time for life outside of work.
 
She wants to get it on as much as you do.

Don't get caught up in what others think.

Follow the dream, evn if it is stupid.

Buy a few quality stocks and put as much money as he can into them each year.
