The 2025-26 National Hockey League regular season is roughly about a month and a half away, give or take.
Wasn't it just yesterday that Swamp Cats, aka the Florida Panthers, were raising the Stanley Cup for the second year in a row?
Enough about that hockey team down in South Florida, let's talk about that hockey team up in the Big Apple, New York City.
It's the New York Rangers, who are in their 100th year of existence this season.
Even though the hasn't even begun yet, all ready there are questions coming out of "The World's Most Famous Arena", Madison Square Garden.
To start with, there's a new man behind the bench replacing former head coach, Peter Laviolette.
It's former Pittsburgh Penguins head coach, Mike Sullivan, who used to play for the Rangers back in the day.
How will Sully handle veterans like Mika Zibanejad, Adam Fox and Artemiy Panarin?
Gone from the team are Rangers' fans favorite "whipping boy", K'Andre Miller, who was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes and longtime Rangers mainstay,Chris Kreider, who will be joining former Rangers captain Jacob Trouba, with the Anaheim Ducks.
How will the new coach handle the goaltending tandem of Igor Shesterkin and Jonathan Quick?
Since he signed his new contract last season, Shesterkin has been inconsistent in the Rangers net.
Will this put more pressure on a veteran like Quick, who is going into his 21st season in the league.
Quick can't be expected to shoulder most of the action in the Rangers' net, although eventually Quick surely will be in the Hockey Hall of Fame once his career is over.
Will Sullivan be able to handle the young core of Rangers such as Braden Schneider and Will Cuyle, who continues to play better with each Rangers game that he plays in.
Then there's Rangers newest fan favorite, Matt Rempe.
Will he continue to improve his role on the ice and not just be known as the new "team security?"
Rangers fans sure hope so.
