Bo Schembechler rushed to hospital

Former University of Michigan football coach Bo Schembechler was transported to Providence Hospital after a medical emergency Friday morning, a Southfield Police Department official has said.

Schembechler is currently listed in critical condition with an undisclosed ailment, according to Providence Hospital officials, according to a WDIV Local 4 report.

Detective John Harris said Southfield officers escorted an ambulance carrying Schembechler to Providence Hospital at about 9:30 a.m. Medical personnel were called to WXYZ-TV in Southfield after Schembechler apparently suffered a medical problem.

Last month, the 77-year-old Schembechler had a pacemaker and defibrillator installed after he had dizziness and other symptoms while taping his weekly television show.

i posted this on the UM-Ohio State thread -- We were told off the record he had no pulse when he arrived at the hospital.

Just came on TV that he's dead. Saw an interview with him a couple days ago where he said he thought he was a goner when he collapsed a couple weeks ago.

Legendary University of Michigan football coach Bo Schembechler has died. He collapsed Friday morning at Channel 7’s Broadcast House as he prepared to tape the Big Ten Ticket show.

Schemechler passed away at Providence Hospital in Southfield. He was taken to the hospital by paramedics Friday morning.

The former coach had 2 major heart attacks and 2 quadruple bypass surgeries.

Just 2 weeks ago, he had a pacemaker implanted.

I sit here and am just ****ing numb... I worshipped him as a fan, I covered his team as an adult ...

I didn't cry when my grandmothers died, but I am now...

Don't know how many interviews he gave after Wednesday, but I think I'm going to hang on to the recording I have from that day. He had some interesting things to say.

saw the repeat of sportscenter at noon. was led by the news that schembechler had been rushed to the hospital... then they show michigan-ohio state and say 'judgement day' is coming

i hope the stop calling it that pretty damn soon

but still have their 'countdown to judgement day' clock up, but at least it's still counting down
