3 Stooges by the Farrelly Brothers

Sean Penn is the absolute worst possible cast for this. Jim Carrey? Funny but in no way a Curly.

There is no damn way this is anything close to the original. No way.

In the 80s Fridays did a Three Stooges sketch where they were all drug addicts. The Howard family sued them.
Larry David played Larry. I think John Rourke was Curly and Bruce Mahler was Moe.
The link is one of the sketches.

I'm a little too young to remember "Fridays." (I know it existed, but I've never really watched it). It's still hard for me to imagine Larry David playing any other character than Larry David.

I was a big fan of Fridays when I was a kid.

Three words in the initial explanation will keep me from paying any more attention to this subject: the Farrelly brothers.

For that reason alone, I hope it doesn't get made.

Besides, wasn't there a better made-for-TV biopic about the Stooges a few years ago with Michael Chiklis as Curly? I remember seeing it and liking it, but I can't recall the title.

If this was done as a drama about how ****ed up their real lives were, it could be pretty interesting.

Dewey, Cheatem and Howe.

this project should be scrapped immediately unless it's done as a drama. it's like trying to recapture the marx brothers. can't be done.

If John Goodman lost 100 lbs he'd be fat.

BTW imdb, which I dearly love, is sometimes full of sh*t.

Right after a drama on the Three Stooges -- sure to be a box-office bonanza and something audiences have been clamoring for (ever since these guys died 30, 40 or 50 years ago) -- maybe someone can do a comedy on 9/11 or the Holocaust.

Please don't make Moe, Larry and Curly roll over in the grave they're surely sharing, and snoring in, a la their beds thru the years.

What about Artie Lange as the fat one?

I have never seen him.

Ha...picture did not show on the computer I was using.

Captain: Do you promise to serve this great republic and...
Moe: Republican? No siree bub, I'm a Democrat!
Curly: Not me! I'm a pedestrian!

Watch the clip. Larry David is doing Larry David.

Chris Farley, bless his soul, would have made one hell of a Curly.

I really think Jack Nicholson would have been a fun Moe.

I'm still juggling the idea of Larry.

But I'm laughing my ass off at Farley as Curly already.
