Mike Dantoni was labelled as an idiot when he left LA. History will be kind to him, and lay blame for the start of the Lakers' decline at the feet of Dwight Howard and Steve Nash.

Try Kobe Bryant.

Not particularly because of any nefarious scheme on his part (although he certainly bears some complicity in the Shaq-Kobe soap opera of the early Aughts), but simply for getting old.

If he was still the Kobe of 2005-2010 averaging 30 ppg, the Lakers would be contending. Or at least not comatose.

Like Starman said, Kobe sticking around too long to get his and the Buses being an absolute mess of a family. Nash and Howard were symptoms of a greater problem.

Of course the Lakers also might be all right now if Chris Paul was on the team...

Also, has Dan Gilbert penned any letters recently to the commish about competitive balance concerns?

I have no idea who's coming out of the east this year, but I could give you a litany of reasons why each team in the east won't do it. The Bulls could still take out the Celtics. (Seriously, this Celtics team is the top seed? WTF?)

Going in I thought the Cavs' defense was too shaky to make the finals. I still kinda think that, but someone else would have to be better. I don't know who that is.

About each of the first 3 quarters ...

What if I told you this little piggie made the Clippers cry wee wee wee all the way home with out an NBA title?

I'm really sorry, I felt like I had to bring the thread back around to where we started.

Doc Rivers has gone from Tony Dungy deity status to Marty Shottenheimer status.

This is going to be a fascinating off-season for the Clippers. Do you blow it up? Does it get blown up for you? Paul, Griffin and Redick are all free agents.

Do you pay Griffin what he is likely to command despite his injury history?

If I'm the GM, I think I try to bring back this team with a different coach. I just don't see them building a better roster than this, and the team should clearly be performing far better than it is.

If I'm the GM of Oklahoma City, I try to get Griffin and Redick, if possible under the cap. Griffin is an OKC guy and may be open to it. The injury history is scary, but the guy can still play and OKC probably needs to take chances on guys. No idea if Redick would be interested, but OKC badly needs a 3 point threat.

30 for 30?
