Should be Craig Ferguson.

Jared Harris is good and all, but if he beat out Aaron Paul for that award, that would be a joke. Paul's work as Jesse is the best acting on television at the moment.

Breaking Bad really should win best series and then both of the male acting awards. The drama categories are minefields of great work, though, so it'll be interesting to see how it shakes out.

I think if there's one I feel the strongest about, it's Archie Panjabi for her work on The Good Wife. She's been fabulous in that.

Interesting to see that Conan and Letterman both were not nominated... Good thing, because Kimmel's show is far better than either one.

I love The Daily Show, but it would be really nice to see someone else win in that category.

I don't think there is a bigger lock in a major category than Danes for Homeland. And speaking of that show, no Mandy Patinkin?

I still don't get your continued ripping of Skyler, Mizzou. I think Gunn does a fantastic job with her role and that the role is a good one.

Her role has been written better as the series has gone on. I don't think she is a great actress, but she has had some very good scenes, especially with Ted and with Saul.

Breaking Bad has never beaten Mad Men in the Drama Series category when the two shows have gone head-to-head.

So, uh, I'm guessing Modern Family is going to take Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy... Four out of the five nominees, wow.
Actually, there are six nominees - shottie's list is missing Bill Hader.

I know, but if there is ever a season where it absolutely should, season 4 of BB is the one.

Thanks, lisa, I'll add that. I take it it's for his SNL work, right?

Really disappointed Andrew Scott got no nom for his manic portrayal of Moriarty in "Sherlock." Dude won the BAFTA, after all. And Freeman was nominated for "Scandal in Belgravia," not "Reichenbach Fall"? Weird.

Other than that, hope Damian Lewis wins for Homeland. The rest is a yawn for me. Even though I'm a big Downton fan, it shouldn't win for lead actor. Maybe Dockery for lead actress - her Lady Mary certainly displayed range this season. But not Bonneville (lead actor) or Coyle (supporting). Just wasn't enough there. Wouldn't mind Maggie Smith winning because I just love that old girl.

Correct.

Neither Freeman nor Cumberbatch had any control over that - in order to be able to submit in the Mini/Movie category, PBS had to pick one of the episodes, and that's what they chose. Clearly it worked, since Cumberbatch is nominated as well.

Really? They could only submit one of three episodes? That sucks. So, do the series only submit one episode?

No, but the actors do once the nominations are finalized. Series submit in batches of six, and typically the producers submit two sets of episodes. Shows competing in the Series categories must have broadcast a minimum of six episodes in the eligibility year to be considered.
