In california it was a wool hat, or a ski hat. I moved to Oregon and they became beanies.

I have heard watch cap, ski cap, stocking cap, beanie and - thanks to Bob and Doug McKenzie (take off, you hosers) - toque. I use beanie most of the time.

Scissors, a razor, and a little bit of time can fix that. One of the benefits of shaving my head is I can wear these without issue. One of the downsides is I need them more because my head gets cold more easily.

Growing up all I heard it called was toboggan. I didn't know wtf a toboggan was because we don't have snow. We had sleds, but not toboggans.

Now, though, beanie, ski cap or toque. Mostly beanie.

I haven't cut my hair since September so I better understand how it f'ks up hair and makes you hotter if you have long hair.
