It’s the whole team. Only Kuminga has more points and only Looney has more boards. When you’re sitting at 12 and 6, it does mean you aren’t being as aggressive, but who does Minnesota fear after Butler and Kuminga? It’s hard when the rest of the team won’t step up.

Yup. This is when you would hope we'd see a "next man up" mentality. Instead they'd close within a couple, or lead by a few, and Minnesota would go on a long run and they go into hero ball mode again.

The one guy I DONT want being aggressive on O is Dray and during one key 3rd qtr stretch he shot two 3s, and Jimmy didn’t touch the ball either possession. It wasn’t Jimmy not wanting the ball, they didn’t give it to him.

Man it was fun watching Brunson and Tatum going back and forth. Brunson has more shot variation but credit to Tatum for playing a great all around game (until he got hurt).

As one with a repaired Achilles after a full rupture, from my POV it’s totally random, there’s no hard contact or anything that causes it. It’s just wear and tear and when it’s time it’s time.

Man it was fun watching Brunson and Tatum going back and forth. Brunson has more shot variation but credit to Tatum for playing a great all around game (until he got hurt).

That's a great way of putting it with Tatum, i.e., there's not a lot of variation in his game. As @PCLoadLetter has said, he loves to take the toughest shots possible, and he doesn't really have a moveset other than a step-back three or a push off into a midrange. He can't reliably get to his spot and, outside of the top of the arc, I'm not sure he has one. He's a streaky shooter so when it looks good, it looks damn good but when it looks bad, it looks really bad. The biggest difference between games 1-3 is that last night is that the shots were falling.

Just a brutal way to go out. The past year has been The Monkey's Paw. You'll win a title...on the back of White and Brown. You'll be an Olympian...on the bench. You'll have a revenge tour...that you won't see through. Ugh.

The running joke among Pacers fans is that it will be the first NBA finals broadcast on ESPNU.

Pacers are fun to watch, though. I'm just hoping they finish out the Cavs and will worry about the rest later.

Caitlin Clark's Iowa team got better ratings in 2024 than any single NBA game, including every NBA Finals game, which featured the Celtics. NBC and Prime still could not shovel enough money at the NBA. The Knicks are a garbage dumpster of a team, except for their floptastic, foul-bating leading scorer Brunson. They haven't been to even the conference finals in 25 years. I guess they're a draw because I get to see Ben Stiller and Timothy Chalamet. And their midget mascot with the horrible glasses.

At my age, my memory can play tricks. But in my younger days I seem to remember about a baseball player rupturing his Achilles in a crazy occurrence. He was swinging a weight bat in the on-deck circle, it made contact with the back of his ankle and... snap.

I like the NYK team, Hart, Bridges, OG are gritty tough players. Towns is playing best all-around ball of his life and Jalen is nails.

The Celtics are a very well put together roster — players like Jrue and White aren’t asked to carry more weight that they are capable of. With Tatum hurt and the Unicorn still suffering, the equilibrium of the team is likely going to be off.
