Me. I've been saying it for 18 months. I'd have to dig around here for my posts to QFP. I tried to tell folks that the emails really mattered only to get repeatedly shouted down. Bernie screwed up by saying no one cares about her damn emails. He's coming to Hopkins later this month and the Q&A session with him should be very interesting.

Biden should have run. Period.

He had nothing new on Clinton, yet he pushed the email issue back to the front page for over a week, only to quietly admit that his conclusion in July was right all along.

NO. If HRC hadn't committed all the possible violations with setting up that server, Comey and the FBI would have had NOTHING to investigate in the first place. Don't blame Comey and the FBI. When you are looking for a root cause of failure, trace back to the original sin.

It's her. People, really, really hate her. We can talk about misogyny, and that surely played some role, but it's mostly about Hillary.

Two anecdotes: A pair of middle aged women sat in front of me at the DMV the other day talking about how bad Hillary was for women. In their mind she went after Bill's mistresses instead of Bill and then dug up these women who came out against Trump and either paid them to say it or turned them into victims again.

I couldn't really believe what I was hearing, nothing about them screamed Trump supporter just looking at them and I really didn't think it was representative at the time.

The other thing is my parents. Right-leaning moderates from Kansas. They were huge supporters of both Kathleen Sebelius and Nancy Kassebaum. They've also always hated Hillary Clinton. It wasn't a party thing or a woman thing. It was her.

They both said they were going to hold their nose and vote for her, (according to my dad the only thing worse than her was a loud mouth New Yorker who wasn't as smart as he thought he was) but today I'm not sure I believe them.

How many people got into the booth and found out they just couldn't bring themselves to vote for her? How many people convinced themselves to ignore what they didn't like about Trump because they couldn't get past what they hated about her? You can say you must be a racist to vote for him, but I doubt it's that simple. To get to this point there had to be people who happily voted for Obama who went for Trump this time.

There was some good news out of this election ...

As of now (it'll change) not only did Trump get fewer votes than Romney, he got fewer than McCain. It's the ones who didn't show up who decided this election. Is that hatred of Clinton, or just lack of enthusiasm? It doesn't take much to get voters to sit out an election because so many people think politics cannot affect their own lives. They will soon learn how wrong they are.

Vomb, I certainly do blame Clinton for her failures in the past and as a candidate, but Trump has plenty of those as well.
Comey inappropriately used his position to influence an election. You can certainly argue whether it was intentional or simple incompetence, but neither is appropriate.

40,000 people who voted in Milwaukee in 2012 didn't this time. Trump won the state by 27,000. Clinton lost this election because she couldn't turn out Democrats in the industrial Midwest. Much of that is on her, and much of it is on them. They just didn't think not-Trump was a big enough motivator. They'll be sorry.

We all know from sports that losing is a total team effort just like winning. Nothing would be more useless for the Democrats than a scapegoat search. Too many targets. I woke up this morning thinking, "I should have donated more, I should have made more phone calls." I'm on the team, too, so I have a minute share of the responsibility.

I'm totally with you. I'm feeling the same way. Only saving grace is we live in the bubble called California, and another bubble within that one, a decent suburb of SF.
