Butler really has struggled to close the season. This kid Woods on Wright State was awesome. Looked better than Graves.

Funny, I didn't realize West Virginia had a spot to begin with.

Neither did I. At least, not without at least two wins in the Big East tournament.

I'll repeat my question here, since we suddenly have a Wright State thread:
Why was Wright State hosting Butler? Did Wright State have a higher seed?

Too bad Wright State didn't take Kansas' spot. ;D

Yeah, because now Wright State will beat Kansas in the first round [/MizzouSportsJournalists.com]

Better conference record, I'm assuming. And maybe they were the tournament hosts.

No, their mascot and name don't start with the same letter, do they?

The regular-season champ hosts the championship game in the Horizon League Tournament.

That is what I figured, but if Wright State was the regular season champs then why the hell is Butler ranked and Wright State isn't?

Wright State hasn't beaten Gonzaga, North Carolina or Notre Dame.

Makes sense. Thanks.

Because Wright State hasn't beaten anyone of consequence other than Butler (twice). No other wins in the top 100.

Wright State hasn't beaten Gonzaga, Tennessee, Indiana, Purdue or Notre Dame.

Fixed.

Angola,

It's because the voters this year really have no ****ing clue what they're doing. In the coaches poll this week, Duke is only ONE SPOT behind Maryland, a team that has two more wins, swept them and beat UNC, while Duke was swept by both teams.

Consider me educated on Butler. I just figured that Butler would have a better conference record than Wright State since Butler was ranked No. 17.

WSU and Butler tied in the conference and split head to heads, but WSU swept Loyola, the third place finisher and got to host the tournament on the tie-breaker.
