So a candy bar commercial just came on and naturally the word "nougat" (sp?) was said. That made me realize how much I effing hate hearing that word. I know, it doesn't make sense, but I can't believe I'm the only person who hates hearing certain words.

Anybody else out there get irrationally angry when hearing certain words or pronunciations of words? I have more, but I'll wait.

The C bomb, closely followed by the L bomb. Both frighten me, for different reasons.

The word 'affluent' pronouced with the emphasis on the second syllable.  Curse you, Bill Kurtis.

Itinerary.

My mother used it too much when I was growing up. I could never spend the night at a friend's house unless she knew what the "itinerary" was going to be. I could never go on a field trip unless she had a printout of the "itinerary". I didn't have a high school class schedule, I had a "daily itinerary". Arrgh.

Thank you for this thread. It's a venting that has been a long time coming.

"Issues"

As in, "She has some serious issues."

Irrational? Perhaps.

But I really don't care!

Glad to help. Itinerary is awful, especially from a parent, who makes it that much more annoying everytime it's said. I'd kill myself if my Mom or Dad ever said nougat.

EDIT: My bad, IJAG. ::)

One that makes me crazy ... "Impact" used as a verb.

AAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHH!

What?

Never mind. I get it now. I thought you were yelling at me for saying "words" when I just wrote a single word. Never mind. Now I get it. I'm retarded.

I was like, "Irregardless is really a word?" Now I get it. Don't mind me. I'm going to go play with pots and pans now.

And I'm sorry for rolling my eyes at you.

Hell, everyone rolls their eyes at me. That's no big deal. :)
