He can't be stupid enough, however, not to know what most people would think.

Anyway, he could just as easily be using fag out as wimp out.

That's not an original definition. It's been discussed on the radio here and some talked about it being a british phrase. Out.com interview Amechi and he said he'd never heard of it.
Any definition you read online isn't going to be an original definition.

Sure, and when some owner isnt paying a player enough, you could say he's jewing him.
Ace said:I didn't say it was right. I just think Packer would more likely be using fag as a euphemism for wimp.
Rhody31 said:And as said on the radio around here, if Packer was using it to mean "tired out," how come he never said that Greg Oden was fagged out in the title game?
Bottom line - this should earn the man some sort of punishment. Had he used the wod niggardly, he's fired (it's got an acceptable definition, look it up); Steve Lyons got fired for much less than this.

I wasn't saying it was a word I'd use at all, or that it was right. I was just saying the definition given was an original and accurate one.

That's fine. I'm saying he should be fired for using the word.

That's kind of chilling, Rhody. A man should be fired for using a word correctly?

You can't be serious. Do you honestly believe that's what Packer meant? A college professor was fired for using the word niggardly when speaking to a co-worker. A national tv announcer uses a word with a negative connotation - one with British origin that he has never used on air to describe the players he's talking about even though at times their situations called for it - and no one gives a ****?
Does Packer speak using old-world british terms all the time? Is it ye olde NCAA tournament? No. I know there's a PC problem in this country, but apparently it's only when it involves blacks.

Be serious Rhody. Words have more than one meaning and in this case what Packer said was totally harmless.
Fired for saying "fag out." Total stupidity.

Suspended at least ... but firing should be considered given his past history.
If he said this on a major network, this would be a major story. If he uses the word to mean what you say, how come he didn't use it during the tourney?
