Looks to be the new TNF pregame host
FOX wants TNF pregame show in N.Y, hosted by Michael Strahan

Already does Fox pregame. $10,000 Pyramid. Good Morning America. Live with Kelly Ripa

I don't get it. What am I missing that makes this guy so in demand by tv networks? Because he's the non-threatening black guy who appeals to middle america housewives?

I don't watch his shows much, but I have never heard him say anything interesting. Yet he ALWAYS has another gig going.

There are thousands of ex football players. Thousands of ex-athletes. But Michael Strahan always seems to get the gig.

I just don't get it.

I seem to remember that he put a tracking device on the car of his ex, Nicole Murphy, which is creepy as hell. He’s our next O.J.

Tiki Barber, who has better teeth, was on that track. Until he left the pregnant wife for the young chippy.

Network execs just look down the roster of the NY Giants to find bland guys for TV spots.

Figure someone met him at a cocktail party in New York and thought he'd be great on TV. Someone saw him on TV and figured, well if that guy wants him he must be great, and so on. (Also applicable to Shia Lebeof's career), And people figure Sinatra was right (they made it "here" they can make it anywhere).
Plus, none of the other Fox hosts wanted to fly into NY on Thursday and then out to LA . Menafee and Gonzales live in LA, Bradshaw in Texas, Johnson - Florida and Long in Charlottsville.

He's good-looking enough and pleasant and inoffensive and can read a TelePrompter and interact with strangers and conduct an interview and appear genuinely interested in things.

Which is exactly the scouting report on everyone from Ryan Seacrest or Regis Philbin to Dave Garroway or Joe Garagiola.

He's perfect for exactly the kind of shows he's doing.

And there probably is a small sub-section of players with enough name value to have "credibility" and still have the desire to really work at broadcasting. Getting the Ripa show and having success with it also showed the female TV audience liked him too. Fran Tarkenton and Frank Gifford are probably on the list of former NY Giants transitioning to TV as well. I do find it odd. I can't think of a New York Jet since Namath to have much TV exposure.

Keyshawn. Btw, I just looked him up again to check his stats and bio; he was 24 years old when he entered the league as the No. 1 pick in 1996. Ancient

Keyshawn hasn't done anything outside of sports. Neither has Bart Scott.

Dammit, one butt fumble and you become a Youtube sensation -- Mark Sanchez

Frank Gifford arises from the grave to say hi.

JPP's mangled hand will get a tv show before anyone on the other 31 teams.

Strahan hasn’t been on “Live” in a year or two now.

He’s already in New York, so there’s no cross country flight.

It is weird seeing and hearing Strahan discuss the Trump and Comey stuff - I figured he would be handling all the co-host stuff that Stephenapolous didn't like (cooking segments, celebrity interviews).
