Now before the Sports Diva really gets into this post, let me clarify something.
I am a registered Democrat and have been one since 1971.
I did vote for Kamala Harris but that doesn't matter.
I would say the same thing if the president weren't one Donald J. Trump.
With all the problems in the country and the responsibilities of the Commander in Chief, are we really THAT upset that a baseball or football team has changed their names?
Not only am I a freelance sports writer, I am a sports fan, (and contrary to popular belief, you can be both but that's a post for another day )
I did and STILL do refer to the Cleveland Guardians as the Cleveland Indians and while I understood it, sort of, I still refer to the Washington Commanders as the Washington Redskins.
Actually though, the Commanders are a natural name for a sports team based in our nation's capital.
Do we really need an executive order to have the team change their name?
Really Mister President?
It's just as if a company brought the naming rights to a stadium or arena .
The changing of the stadium or arena's name isn't up to the fans or the executive branch of the United States government.
It's up to the owners, and if the Cacapoo Company wants to change the name of a stadium or arena,oh well, who cares?
It's their money and we can chose to call it anything we want, even the original name if we want to.
We don't need a presidential executive order to change the team's name back.
Right about now, at this moment in United States history, this shouldn't be the most important piece of legislation to cross the president's desk.
