... and Matt Holliday still hasn't touched home plate.

(Fan of neither team, just an observer.)

Thought it glanced it but I'm still not totally convinced he did.

Terrible thread title. No idea what this was about until I poked in here. I thought it was a How I Met Your Mother thread (though this would be the wrong place for it).

Maybe right before the first pitch Wednesday, Carlos Ruiz can march into the dugout and tag Holliday, and the Phillies can win the series by default. This thread is going nowhere, unless it somehow morphs into a Charlie Brown type thread.

... Dewey still hasn't defeated Truman

Screw that....move it to anything goes. Then it would be legen......wait for it....

I liked the way Troy Renck of the Denver Post mentioned it, pretty far down in his story, today, "Legend will say he missed home plate - as text messages and TV commentators suggested." Details.

Michael Barrett did a great job blocking the plate and could have tagged Holliday after retrieving the ball, but Tim McClelland just missed the call.

Before anyone suggests it, no, instant replay isn't the answer. Human error is a big part of sports.

Hey, I'm still waiting for Sid Bream to touch home 15 years later.
Get in line.

I thought this thread would be about the wrestler Kennedy! ... (wait for it) ... (wait for it) ... Kennedy!

I wish people would get over the Merkle Boner.

Someone in San Diego should call Carlos Zambrano and ask him to slug Michael Barrett.
Guy might have been able to sell the ump on Holliday missing plate.
