Twitter is eating up my data

I went over my data limit for the first time ever this month, though I'd been getting closer and closer in recent months.

I checked my phone and Twitter used almost all of it. I haven't really changed any of my habits lately, but it seems like there are more and more videos in my time line that silently play as I scroll through.

I love using Twitter for keeping up with sports and news out of the house, so does anyone have a solution or am I going to have to avoid it unless I can get on wifi?

I guess. It had never been an issue before, but I've been on the same plan for years.

I hate videos on Twitter, on web pages, wherever. I want to read the damn news, not have some ape with a mic blab at me.

In your Settings > Data in the Twitter app, you can turn off autoplay videos.

Autoplay is awful.

Maybe try a third party app, Ive been hunting around looking for one since they started showing junk followers "like" instead of just what they RT.

I'd say I'm a fairly heavy Twitter user, probably a 30-60 mins. a day. Over the last month, it's used about 70MBs... hardly a dent in a my 6 GBs per month. Then again, I make darn sure to be on Wifi wherever possible to save my data for when I need it.

EDIT: Whew, I just checked and saw it used 1.6 gigs over Wifi in the last month, way more than I thought. So I see how it can easily eat up data.

I've since switched to a small business plan with unlimited data, but for a while there I had to be careful how and when I used the app.

I'm either on an unlimited phone or my home internet so data management does not confront me, but my twitter feed has about two thousand Trump related posts flying by every day.

I quit twitter two months after using it for 8 years. Haven't missed it as much as I thought I would. I liked reading Trump's latest and writing in reply, GFY!

But I soon realized that I'd never be able to replicate the high I enjoyed when he "liked" my first GFY reply. And so I stopped trying.

If it's worthwhile news, you can read about it tomorrow in the paper or better yet on a newsstand in a weekly magazine. Trying to remain "in the know" by following twitter and watching new channels -- other than maybe hyper local news -- is largely pointless on a daily basis. Unless the goal is to give you high blood pressure

There are a lot of funny combos but the Strait-Lil Wayne-Elvis-Richie-Kanye-Backstreet Boys might be the best one.

What BS. Dave Matthews was born in South ****ing Africa, not Central ****ing Virginia. And to some, Dave Matthews Band SUCKS.

But Tim Reynolds doesn't. Holy cow.

Ted's tweet should have read "musician/band". People can't make a simple tweet without ****ing up what the data or a graph means. @doctorquant am I right?

Sheesh.

Sheesh.

Boyd and Carter were born in CVille, so I think it's OK to count the band as a group.
