He also says he and La Russa don't speak, or at least went a long period without speaking, I presume because Buzz went completely bitchcakes over the Glenn Beck rally and unloaded on La Russa for dragging Pujols to it.

I think Bissinger's been pretty up front about his collaboration with La Russa. He's like that with everything; a few months ago he wrote how much he made off Friday Night Lights the TV show.

He linked to his Daily Beast column on his Twitter, which includes this:

It also should be pointed out right off the top that I wrote a book about the managerial strategy of La Russa six years ago called Three Nights in August. The La Russa irrationalists will immediately go into temper-tantrum mode and claim that I am lauding La Russa for the sole purpose of selling more copies of the book. If the book does sell more copies, and God I hope it does, it will be because of the remarkable performance of the St. Louis Cardinals in the playoffs that ended Friday with perhaps the most improbable World Series win in history over the Texas Rangers. It won’t be because of this column.

I do not agree with everything that La Russa has done on baseball or off baseball.

So not sure how much more he should disclose. Should every Tweet have an asterisk, with an explanation in his profile that he did a book about La Russa? Is that really what you're asking for?

Michael Lewis great writer--never lets a fact get in the way of his slick and smooth and glib thesis.

I believe less than $15,000.

I thought I saw something that he made like $2K per episode, which if that was the case for the whole run would have put him well into six figures in total take. Maybe it switched when it became the DirecTV deal, don't know about that.

I also recall reading that he said he has given a good amount of money to Boobie Miles over the years.

I heard him on Cowherd yesterday say that he got drunk and made a few regrettable tweets about TLR and as a result TRL stopped talking to him for a few months but that's been patched up and in fact they had just spoken briefly yesterday morning.

I'm guessing he either sold all of the rights when they did the movie or he has the world's worst agent.
