So if someone, a native-born American, said, that they were going to the store for a "pakkanabs" or some "nabs"
Would you have any idea what they were talking about?

I would have presumed it to be an Indian subcontinent import of some sort. Like curry-flavored papadam or fried nan traingles with garlic powder.

Yes. Instantly.

My grandfather eats "nabs" at a blinding rate. And that's what he calls them, not cheese and peanut butter crackers. Nabs.

Jay, it's a good thing you know somebody like me who is down with the lingo of the street.

Yes, when I think of someone young and hip to the kids, I often think of Inky.

Jay, never do that again.

I wouldn't get it from the thread title, but once you said 'store' I knew.

Sorry, sorry. Watched Juno on DVD this weekend.
Can't seem to get home skillet out of my brain.

I think I'll slink off to Inky's blog now. Last thing posted was an item about his carpet.
Honest to blog, you don't get much better than that.

Inky, that reminds me of one of my favorite PMs from Tron:

IJAG - She's sugar, spice and everything nice. And if you disagree, she'll peel your cap, you buncha mark-ass tricks and trick-ass marks.
