Youth sports writ large is such a money-making industry. Cutting off the spigot for half of that will **** off most of the free market folk.

These youth sports mills that charge folks thousands for their kids to travel hither and yon exist in red states, too. Probably more so there if I had to guess. IMG is in Florida.

I feel like the biggest state for softball is Oklahoma.

• Rep. Burgess Owens, R-Utah, a former professional football player, expressed concern that private investment in youth sports could lead to a focus on investor return rather than youth opportunity.

Who wants to tell the private equity sector that they're going to buy something for any reason other than massive financial gain.

Does any sane person believe that the private equity sector cares about the betterment of anyone or anything other than their own checkbooks?
