Yeah, it sure is annoying when people take a definitive stance on things. Much less interesting than everyone agreeing that we just don't really know what the future might hold, so it's best not to speculate.

Speculating isn't the issue. It's the (near) complete absence of qualifiers such as "I think . . . " or "It seems . . . " that tends to go overboard.

Of course, you could argue that in the message board world such qualifiers are understood and a waste of time to write. But it can still be a little jarring to see things always stated in absolute terms, whether it's "Oil is headed to $200 a barrel" or "Tebow will get drafted in the third round."

You CAN'T give him a pass for this year. This year is the TIGER rota.... Augusta, Pebble and St. Andrews. An 0-fer this year is absolutely disastrous, with him now 34 with injuries (multiple in the knee, which sounds quite degenerative) and other **** piling up.

I love how people speak in such absolute terms. How the **** do you know if Jack is safe? Of course it will be difficult and becomes increasingly more difficult with each year that goes by but to say Jack is definitely safe is ridiculous.

Tiger needs five majors to break Jack's record. He's 34. Jack won five of his majors at 35 or older. So unless Tiger's back problem is severe and/or chronic, which it could well be, who knows, I think he's still a good bet even if he doesn't win one this year.

"[Woods] says he's been playing with a bad neck for about a month and thinks it could be a bulging d- - k," Win McMurry said on-air.

What she meant to say is that the serial-cheater quit in the final round of The Players Championship in Florida because of a bulging disc in his upper back.

Is he 100 percent healthy? Probably not, but he's playing like **** coming off a bad scandal and there may have been some in his camp who said he'd be better off playing the injury card as his excuse, especially as he's on the verge of losing his No. 1 ranking.

Of course, they were saying throughout the tournament that he wasn't driving the ball well.

If golf were like any other sport, Tiger would be in serious trouble trying to catch Jack.

But because he plays a sport in which a 57-year-old can be one putt from winning a major and a 58-year-old can finish sixth in a major and a woman can beat 13 male players . . . Nicklaus may be 6 feet under when his record finally falls to Tiger.
