Chelsea Fulham on, I just saw the worst use of VAR in any sport, ever.
A stand up scrum between two opposing players, standing up, in Fulham's defensive half near midfield. A Fullham player steps on opposing player's foot (as the announcer said, "his foot has to come down somewhere") as he is making a soccer move, the ball squirts out, a fullham player takes it, runs half the length of the field, stops, pivots, and makes a sweet goal. Fullham fans cheer, great moment.
Not so fast..
The dreaded VAR sign soon comes out, we watch the ref looking at a monitor, and pretty soon, a goal is disallowed. Because a flopping player got his foot stepped on 70 yards from the goal, 10 seconds before the goal.
What are we even doing here? ****ing pathetic.
