If we're going to have a few close calls every day, and a couple of no hitters every week, we need to be prepared.

Today's event, Anibel Sanchez has a no-hitter going into the 7th, already struck out 10.

And it's done. See, good to be ready!

Next?

Ryan Vogelsong, Goants, perfect through five. (Is that too early?)

Plate umpire: Jim Joyce.

EDIT: over on first batter of sixth.

I don't know what a Goant is and I don't want to Google to find out.

So, every time this thread is bumped, nobody will know if it is for an ongoing no-no or just to continue an ongoing discussion.

I see no good reason not to have a new thread each time a pitcher has a legitimate shot at one going. Say, at least through seven innings.

Makes it to 5 2/3 before Melky Cabrera breaks it up with an RBI triple.
Damn. I was starting to get tingly there for a minute.

Technically...JV gave up a hit against the Yanks in the 6th before his no-no...then struck out of the side...so you could call it 15 2/3...but I understand why you wouldn't. Still...damn impressive

I actually think it is spelled Milky, not Melky.

No biggie, though.

Nope, it's Melky.

Of course, Mookie Wilson wonders what all the fuss is about.
