Yeah I gotta say, as bad a situation as that could have been, that was hilarious.

Didn't he say he only had a glass or two of wine or champagne? My ass. He was blotto.

I'm surprised he didn't call in a relief driver.

I think he was calling for a different relief driver every three blocks, switching companies to prove how smart he was, but eventually he just ran out of options.

This will all be covered in Bissinger's next book: Three Hours In Gen Pop.

And when he ran out of options, did he call Bud Selig, who offered no assistance whatsoever, yet droned on and on and eventually put laRussa to sleep at the wheel?

Judging by how out of it he seemed and the fact that he blew a .09, I'd guess he had a bad reaction with some prescription medication.

Seriously, .09 isn't so ****ed up you forget your ABC's.

what's a big league manager need a full-sized pickup truck for during spring training?

Unnecessarily Gigantic And/Or Extravagant Rental Car For Spring Training is written into every big-league manager's contract.

"We found you asleep at the wheel."
"Is that a problem"
"Well, yeah. You're in the middle of the intersection."

Hey, I've never been a big fan of LaRussa's but I think it's wrong for the police to release the tape to TV or whatever. When I went through what he went through, I wouldn't have wanted any tapes released to anyone. Would you? The man is embarrassed enough, this was simply unnecessary, in my humble opinion.
