One of the most depressing films I have ever seen.

Have you seen his other film with Nicholson, The Pledge?

For the record: I hated both movies. I turned the Crossing Guard off and suffered through The Pledge.

Yeah, The Pledge is more depressing than The Crossing Guard and that's saying something.

Beacuse of those two films, I have sworn off any and all Penn-directed movies.

I find it amazing that he hasn't made a comedy since Fast Times.

He has the signature role in one of the funniest movies ever and never goes anywhere close to comedy again. Amazing.

The guy is a brilliant actor though.

Is he still in the upcoming Three Stooges or is that off now?

Weren't he and DeNiro priests in some comedy? Except maybe it wasn't funny? Am I remembering that wrong?

We're No Angels

Neil Jordan directed David "Dammit" Mamet's screenplay. It was a remake of a 1955 film of the same name that starred Humphrey Bogart and Aldo Ray.

And last I heard was that Jim Carrey, Benicio Del Toro, and Penn were to portray The Three Stooges.
