I still have no idea what any of this means. :D

Take the time to learn it. It's a wonderful, worthwhile sport.

England declare with a lead of 546 and a little over 2 days and a session to bowl them out to win the Ashes. No reason not to at this point.

Flintoff runs out Ponting, and Clarke is run out on the next over! 4 wickets down, Clarke out for a duck. Fluky, from the sounds of it, and he's out by a frame on the replay.

It's all over now, just need to finish mopping it up. Australia may not make it to a fifth day.

Did not see this coming. Not one bit, especially after the debacle of the fourth test.

Props to Strauss.

Dang, that ended quickly while I was at church. Would have liked to have been following when it ended.

One gets the idea that they won't take it from him, and he doesn't seem inclined to give it up.

I happen to think a World Cup would look very nice in the trophy case next to the urn ...

Bump! Last time this was happening, my son was about to be born. Now he's 16 months old and the Ashes are on the line in Australia. Thank you Southern Hemisphere for shaving eight months off the wait.

England will bat first in Brisbane, starting any minute now..

Do you have a Web feed for those of us who aren't paying to watch it on DirecTV's Cricket Ticket?

Try here: http://myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=94706&part=sports

There's a lot of different links, but some require software and I don't know if you trust the benevolent Chinese p2p programmers as much as I do.

Siddle on a hat trick on his birthday. People named Prior are fantastic at disappointing their fans.

And he gets it. Amazing stuff. Way to wilt, England.

Wait, it's on review. I hate review so much...

Hat trick. In the Ashes. On his birthday. Awesome.

First read about this at [no spamming, n00b] looks like England are getting their butts kicked

Let the "Sid Vicious" headlines fly. No offense to my English friends, but I do want Australia to win, if only so Punter can walk away in peace.

Cricket is so much like baseball in that you spend such a long amount of time slowly building the tension, but the key moment can come at any time. All the buzz and pressure on his hat trick ball and he just lets loose with an amazing yorker. What a moment.

Probably won't catch much of this series, what with the games being between midnight and about 8 a.m. (though I could listen to the last hour on the way to work ...), but I know enough of England teams to know that being a favorite is hardly a good thing.

I did manage to check the score a couple times last night whenever I woke up. When you see consecutive lines in the scorecard that show guys out from facing just one ball, it's not hard to do the math.

Let's see what happens on the second day. Lord knows the current incarnation of Australia is capable of a collapse at any moment.
