College students in general are classless. It's the only four years of your life void of consequence.
5 years if you can get red shirted

Leach could coach at my school anytime. Comes across as having a lot of fun, while not apologizing for the fact that his offenses will chuck the ball at will.

If nothing else, I think Air Raid is always interesting to watch. Saw it in person once ... torched my alma mater defense for more than 550 yards, but luckily it wasn't enough.

Those were the days ... :-\

I went to Tech...can't every say I have been more embarrassed.

I'm not sure even most Aggies could tell you.

By the way, the Lubbock paper is running an Aggie Joke of the Day on its web site. Don't know what an Aggie Joke is? Just take every ethnic/military joke you've ever heard and change the target group to Aggies.

I know they might want to play off the "Gig 'em Aggies" phrase, but this is not the way to do it. Classless.

Thank you.
Those of us in the football-impaired parts of the country didn't know what in the hell was going on besides bad taste.
Please explain what "gig 'em" means now.

nobody really knows what "gig em" means. Its an Aggie thing. It is a cult in College Station.

Tech fans love to trash A&M because they despertley want a rival. This is how they do it.
A couple of years ago Tech students took down the goal post on Lubbock and brought it into the Texas A&M seating section.

Just once I wish the university president would grow a set and ban this shirt at the game.

I know that is totally against everything I believe it but good lord. What an awful idea.

No surprise that Texas Tech wants in on rivalries. My school had a serious issue with it, as well.

Since I went to an engineering school, I'm surprised the school didn't build a bridge and get over it.

I think it was Wimp Sanderson who once said "Lubbock is so remote that they don't get the Sunday paper out there until Wednesday."

Didn't Texas A&M print somethng derogatory in its 2002 or 2003 media guide about TTech? I have a hard time feeling sympathetic towards those kooks that keep dead dogs updated on the game score. Its one thing for fans to be classless, but the school's sports information department?

I liked the wording of the story "T-shirts some find tasteless" and the rest of the people?
Nothing like people sentenced to a nickel in Lubbock crapping on their counterparts in College Station.

Exactly. Two groups of people whining at each other, and the rest of the world hopes they all DIAF, if they can be bothered to think of them at all.

Yes. They used the write-ups verbatim from the in-house publication and the one from the Texas Tech game took some shots at Bobby Knight.
They'd done one mailing when it was discovered and had to redo the page and send more out. Fortunately, I got one of the originals.

It was PC at its worst. It wasn't that bad and if it pissed someone off, so what?

Unless you've lived in Texas, many of you don't have a clue of what sports rivalry in the Lone Star State is all about. It's something that I think every sports scribe should experience.
You can argue the merits of good taste bad taste but no where in this country will you find rivarlies as heated.

My biggest problem with this is that it doesn't make sense.

If they were playing Virginia Tech, I'd think it was a great idea, albeit a tasteless one...

Missou. They're college kids. Some joker thought it would be cute and decided to parlay the idea to make a couple of bucks. Tasteless humor abounds. You see it every day here.
I'm sure there are other colleges where similar stuff has been done related to Vick.
And you're right, it would've made much more sense if they played Va. Tech.
But I'll tell you one thing, I wouldn't wear that shirt in the Tidewater area of Virginia. You are asking to get your ass kicked if you do.

It's a shot at the fact that the Aggies have a dog as a, well I guess you'd call it a mascot. It's stuupid but I knew what they were getting at the minute I saw the shirt.

I will concur with the other members of TexasSportsJournalists.com, A&M and Tech really don't like each other. As an impartial observer I can tell you it's a lot of fun to watch two white-trash fan bases go at each other.
