Part of it is from Wal-Mart tries to be too many things, part grocery store, part regular store, part automotive, part pharmacy.

The Wal-Mart nearest my home has a ****in' hair salon in it. A hair salon. Seriously.

I was at a bar one night three months ago and we were bull****tin' with the people the next table over, and the woman in the group confesses to being a Wal-Mart hair stylist. I ask her about the atmosphere, and she jokes:

"They treat us well. Hell, we're the skilled labor in the building."

If I recall correctly from thread a while back that is where spup gets her hair done.

Going to Walmart gets me unhinged. Target is always a pleasing experience.

Founded by the same man. But not even in the same discussion.

In fact, I need to take a trip to Sam's right now.

While you are there, I forgot some stuff yesterday so if you don't mind ***

Costco is the way to go, sort of like Sam's Club but a lot better.

Isn't it time for someone to start the "Wal-Mart as Evil Empire" thread?

Oh, wait, that's usually me. :)

I love Target, and the Sam's Club card pays for itself. I tell every college kid to get one, because it's worth it.

Of course, I live in BFE, so both stores are a 90-mile round trip for me. Bah.

But I'd so rather go to Costco than Sam's... better food, better wine, better selection....

Target is like going to BP for your gas - it just makes you feel a little bit better.

I have an irrational hatred of BP. They forced my dad out of business when they bought out SOHIO.

**** BP.

No. When I go to BP for gas, I feel like a woman who moved into the apartment next door to....

Their commercials are so damn catchy! http://www.slate.com/id/2165669/

There's no Target where I live and there is no other store besides Borders I'd rather have. I like Target.

Wal-Mart? I think I've made my feelings known on that place.
