Okay, I've never heard of this dude, but guy on Comedy Central has thrown down the poetic gauntlet to the masses with a 224-word palindrome poem.

Dammit I’m mad.
Evil is a deed as I live.
God, am I reviled? I rise, my bed on a sun, I melt.
To be not one man emanating is sad. I ****.
Alas, it is so late. Who stops to help?
Man, it is hot. I’m in it. I tell.
I am not a devil. I level “Mad Dog”.
Ah, say burning is, as a deified gulp,
In my halo of a mired rum tin.
I erase many men. Oh, to be man, a sin.
Is evil in a clam? In a trap?
No. It is open. On it I was stuck.
Rats peed on hope. Elsewhere dips a web.
Be still if I fill its ebb.
Ew, a spider… eh?
We sleep. Oh no!
Deep, stark cuts saw it in one position.
Part animal, can I live? Sin is a name.
Both, one… my names are in it.
Murder? I’m a fool.
A hymn I plug, deified as a sign in ruby ash,
A Goddam level I lived at.
On mail let it in. I’m it.
Oh, sit in ample hot spots. Oh wet!
A loss it is alas (sip). I’d assign it a name.
Name not one bottle minus an ode by me:
“Sir, I deliver. I’m a dog”
Evil is a deed as I live.
Dammit I’m mad.
Somebody's got way too much time on his hands. WAY too much time. And far too much weed.

There once was a man named Martin
Whose poetry smelled just like fartin'
But he's on TV
and I'm not, you see
And that leaves my sphincter a-smartin'

Write cool poems, yes.
But can he cook halibut?

122 words in, the whole thing repeats in reverse order, letter-by-letter, IJAG. Agreed, most of it makes no sense whatsoever. Still, I'm impressed.

I'm trying to figure out how that's a palindrome on any level.

The literal definition level? Unless I'm really missing something.

I mean, I guess I could string a bunch of words together. But to me a palindrome would have to make sense.

Oh, I know it's not. That's why I wouldn't write one.

But the ones I've seen make more sense than that one.

Yeah, it's like he just put a bunch of random words together that make no sense just to have a palindrome and I don't think it's that impressive. Just busy work. Now if it were a better one, I'd be impressed.

Oh, it's impressive as all hell. Killick's right. Even a very basic one takes a lot of effort. 224 words? Crazy.

It just didn't strike me as the kind of palindrome I'd seen. Not knocking Martin at all.
