Yeah, but will he slice open the heads of Klingons?

Heroes Baddie Is Logical Choice to Play Spock

So, Sulu is on Heroes and Sylar is off on a Star Trek? Is that how it's going to be? Zachary Quinto, aka the hit NBC drama's sinewy supervillain, has been tapped to slap some latex triangles on his ears and portray a young Spock in Lost boss J.J. Abrams' upcoming Star Trek feature film, sources confirm.

Heroes creator Tim Kring tells TVGuide.com that Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, producers on the project, approached him with the casting idea, and all parties then worked to make it happen, scheduling-wise. "It was a couple of behind-the-scenes conversations, and we were able to work it out," says Kring, who himself is "thrilled" to see Quinto get his Vulcan on.

Officially, a rep for Abrams' Bad Robot shingle has yet to comment on the casting, though we hear it will be announced this week at (where else) the San Diego Comic-Con.

He does look a little spockish and offputting.

he especially looks like spock in this episode of CSI which is running on Spike right now ("Anatomy of A Lye").

Most illogical.

Especially considering Quinto shows all the range Barry Bonds currently does in left field. Then again, Spock's not supposed to emote, so maybe it is a good choice. :D

JJ Abrams is making a Star Trek movie?

My goodness, he's stretching himself too thin. He may not be able to focus his full attention on providing Lost with a cohesive plotline.

Now that was well-played.

How did I miss this thread earlier? Must've been my mistaken idea to attempt to read every word in a JDV post.

Well, maybe he can keep a perpetual stone face rather than the perpetual creepy face he has on Heroes. To be stoic 24/7 doesn't take much range, which is a very good thing in this case.
