Probably should have started this thread a few days ago so people could use some ideas, but oh well.

What are you making for the Super Bowl?

I'm cooking up a batch of beef chili and a buffalo chicken dip. The dip is great. It has the chicken and bleu cheese in it and you just dip your chip.

Anyone who wants to post recipes for future reference is welcome to do so.

This thread needs some replies.

I am watching the game with Baby Key this afternoon - Mom's going to the movies. Anyway, I'm boiling some wings in soy sauce - maybe with some crushed red pepper.
I'll also make a quick bean dip with jalepenos, onions and cilantro.

Nothing big, but I'd be interested to know what everyone else is doing.

I've never had buffalo chicken dip, though the idea of it makes me wanna gorge pronto.

I hate beans, therefore many of those dips are out for me.

It's pretty easy to make.

1 lb of chicken
1 lb of cream cheese
8 oz. of bleu cheese
2 cups shredded cheddar
12 oz. buff sauce (you can buy it in a store, but I make my own.)

Buff Sauce:
12 oz. Frank's Red Hot
2/3 stick butter
Garlic salt
Pepper
Dash of lemon juice
Couple oz. of red wine.
2 tbsp sugar.
Mix em all together, simmer for 10 mins.

Buff Chix dip
Bake chicken for 20 mins on 450.
While that's baking, cook the buffalo sauce (as described above), and mix the cream and bleu cheeses in a big bowl. Add buffalo sauce to bowl. When chicken is done, shred it up well, but not so fine that you don't get chunks of chicken. Add to bowl and mix.

Pour bowl contents into 9x13 baking pan. Top with 2 cups of cheddar cheese (I use a bag of the Mexican Mix cheese). Bake in oven at 350 for 20 mins. Serve with Tostitos scoops (it's the premier dipping chip).

You'll be a hit, I promise.

Sounds good ... think ranch could substitute for bleu cheese?

Thanks, pern, my mouth is gonna water now for the next three hours.

I love buffalo chicken with a passion. Amazing stuff.

That dip sounds really good, pern.

With your permission, I'm copying and pasting that recipe into a folder.

Actually, I'm doing it either way!

The menu at Alma house (weird compilation to follow):

Sliders on the grill (white castle style, they're winners)
Spicy Italian bean soup (homemade, 12 hours, it plays)

and...Indian food.
Chicken Pakora fried in corn breading
Roti stuffed with onions, garlic and lentils w/Daal and mint chutney
Chicken Korma
Chicken Chettinad

I've never tried it, but I imagine if you like your buff chix with ranch, it would taste pretty good.

We're doing the following:
hamburgers
hot dogs
Queso and beef dip
Guacamole dip
Macaroni salad
Potato salad
Veggie tray
Beer
Wine
Rum and coke
And some sort of dessert, but I'm not sure what it is.

Gutter,

I've had this dip before - bigpern's recipe is flawless - and I'd recommend the blue cheese. It mellows the dip out, thickens it up. You won't taste the ranch much if you had it in there.

I'm the judge for the Super Duper Super Bowl Chili Cookoff, a very exclusive, invitation-only event at Manse Young Harris in Blacksburg, VA. There are four entries, including one made with venison and another made with four different meats. I'm taking my responsibilities very seriously. I plan to face plant each of the four and render a fair decision.
The smell is overpowering. Daughter-in-law to be is making some kind of dip that figures to be amazing. I lost count of the varieties of beer in the fridge.
Judging assistant is my granddog Dynamite, who assured her Grampy she was up to the task.

I'm making wings, but I'll probably do a spicy honey garlic teriyaki sauce for them.

A friend gave me a Chipotle Chicken sandwich recipe I'd like to make but I forgot to pick up chipotle when I was grocery shopping the other day.

My buffalo chicken dip is a little bit easier.

1 can of chicken (find it in the tuna aisle)
1/2 cup of ranch dressing
1/4 cup of Buffalo sauce
8 oz. of cream cheese

Mix it all together and serve with Ritz. Add more buffalo sauce if you like it spicer
You can substitute blue cheese for ranch.

KFC.

Fries. With gravy.

And on the healthy side, coleslaw & potato salad.

Mrs. MMSW made some guacamole with homemade tortilla chips.

Then came buffalo wings. More on the medium side because Baby MMSW doesn't like things too spicy.

Next are the sliders, made with beef from a local cow and English farmhouse cheddar cheese on top.

Homemade brownies for dessert.

Mrs. MMSW loves me.
