I could use a little help here and I'm there are others with the same problem. My feet stink. I've used all kinds of deodorants and powers through the years and the problem persists. I've never gone to a doctor about it per se but I feel it might be time to do so. Any thoughts or advice?

Have you told your feet that you're gay, or would they never believe that?

Is it possible you walked in the back door, thinking it was the front door?

This by far is the most ignorant response that you have made on this board. There are gay members here Versatile. Jokes are fine but how about THINKING before posting? Try it. You might like it.

You started an entire thread about your reeking feet and you're going to dole out advice on how to post?

I'm sure I'm not alone with this problem. I asked hoping that perhaps others may have tried something that has worked.
Do you have a problem with the question?

Maybe try a shoe or a sandal instead of, you know, boots.
That's not an option. And actually, the foot odor doesn't come from wearing boots which is surprising. I don't wear sandals except when I'm going to the beach. At first I thought it was the type of shoes or sneakers I wore. I've since discovered that's not the issue.

It could be a heightened sense of smell and not an actual foot odor problem.

We need to explore all of the possibilities.

I cringed before opening. Wasn't as bad an opening post as it could have been. I was thinking it was going to involve something you pay extra for.

How do you truly know how bad the odor is? Can you ask any newsy coworkers to weigh in?

At the risk of trying to answer the original question...

Body odor - and foot odor more specifically - is usually caused by the action of bacteria on the skin and those bacteria need the moisture provided by perspiration to multiply and metabolize. Therefore, the avenues to solving the problem fall into two categories:

1. Getting rid of the bacteria.

2. Miminizing the perspiration.

Getting rid of bacteria begins with washing the feet with antibacterial soap preferably twice a day. Using a stiff bath brush to scour the skin to exfoliate dead skin cells is a big help too. However, foot washing puts moisture on the skin so THOROUGH drying is mandatory.

Soaking the feet in warm water with some hydrogen peroxide in it once in a while is a good treatment too. That kills bacteria. Once again THOROUGH drying is mandatory.

Soaking the feet in warm water with white vinegar in it once in a while is a good treatment too. that tends to make your feet sweat less. THOROUGH drying here too...

Use foot powder inside your socks. Never wear socks more than one day at a time.

Hope some of this is helpful.

Thank you Jack. I believe it may be a moisture problem because for some reason, my socks are almost always damp from perspiration. I take a shower before leaving in the day and usually take another one when I come home. I'm going to try your recommendation about soaking my feet in warm water with some hydrogen peroxide.
Again, thank you for your post.
