Weather Services are calling for as much as 18-to-24 inches of snow during a mostly snowless winter through the northeast. Storm is supposed to begin later tonight and blast the region overnight into tomorrow, with one-to-three inches per-hour expected during some stretches. Weather Channel already has its bootyologists and Cantore stationed along the I-95 corridor

Here in Boston suburb, 12-24 inches forecast. High winds. Loss of power probable. Am headed to store to buy possible dinners which can be cooked completely on the stovetop, which we can light manually.

Accuweather is predicting 4-8 inches in DC, but that total has been steadily decreasing for the past two days. It's supposed to be near 50 this afternoon, and the Post is now saying we're right on the line where rain becomes snow, so we could get anywhere from nothing to a foot.

Supposed to go to a Green Day concert at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn on Wednesday night. If it's not cancelled, it's gonna be a **** show getting there and back to CT.

Very much hoping for a snow day tomorrow. We had one earlier this year when forecasts were grim. It snowed a bit overnight, stopped by 8 a.m. and didn't snow the rest of the day, so it turned out to be a non-snow day. They'll probably make up for it tomorrow by making us come in through snow drifts.

My boss has already informed me that we are closed tomorrow and I did the pre-storm grocery shopping last night. The only thing which could **** me would be a power outage, since my place has electric everything. Just in case, I do have a grill at least for cooking.

Yeah, a buddy of mine from the Boston area flew to Arizona over the weekend and his return flight today or tomorrow is already canceled.

Fully expecting a state workers' snow day, to the point that I might just call off if they don't issue it.

12-18" expected in Harrisburg. That's the type of prediction where it could be more, rather than less.

It was like 65 in NYC on Thursday. Then it snowed Friday, like six inches that melted immediately bc the ground was so warm. Now cold and bitter again and about to drop like 2 feet of snow. That **** is probably gonna be here a while. Still, it's been a mild winter by usual standards, so can't really gripe. It's not like Lake Tahoe, where they've been getting hammered all winter. I don't mind snow, so long as there's a reprieve so you can at least get out and not go nuts. I'm planning on being marooned with my daughter for this one, though.

Southwest cancelled my Tues night flight back home, and all the Wed and Thurs flights are booked. Now headed back Fri night.

Makes up for the two days I spent hospitalized at the start of the trip.

Depends on what comes after. The sun is much stronger and up in the sky longer now, so a few days in the '50s (not in immediate Boston forecast, alas) melts a lot of snow very quickly.

I was in Boston in May two years ago and there were still snow piles in parking lots that were three to four stories high. That was insane to see.

Yeah, that was the worst winter in area history, which is a long history. Basically we had a foot plus of snow every four or five days in February plus it never got above freezing to melt any. Guys were charging, and getting $10 K to remove ice dams from suburban McMansions.
